Desta vez na Harper's Bazaar: JUST BACK FROM...LISBON AND LAGOS, PORTUGAL

Antes de ontem dei-vos conta do artigo na Vogue Paris a propósito de Portugal ser o lugar a visitar este ano.

Pois bem. Agora é a reputada Harper's Bazaar com grande destaque para o artigo escrito pela sua Merchandising Editor, Dana Mendelowitz, on her recent trip to Europe's not-so-hidden gem.

Just Back From...Portugal.

Trip Duration: 9 days

Where I Stayed: We stayed in Lisbon for four nights at the Lisboa Carmo Hotel, then two nights in Evora at the M'Ar De Ar Aqueduto hotel. After that, we finished our trip with three nights in the Algarve at the Vilalara Thalassa Resort. The Lisboa Carmo Hotel is in the Chiado neighborhood, which is filled with great shopping and restaurants. Zara and its sister brands Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, and Massimo Dutti all have stores there and they all rival Zara in their reasonably priced, decent quality, and on-trend merchandise. A 400-year old former palace serves as the location for the lobby and restaurant of the The M'Ar De Ar Aqueduto hotel in Evora, but its large, high-ceiling rooms are all in a new, more modern building. The hotel has a gorgeous pool and the property is surrounded by a 500-year old aqueduct. Plus, everything in Evora is walking distance so it's easy to explore. The Algarve region in the south is known for it's rocky coastline which is filled with breathtaking cliffs, caves, and grottoes–its straight out of a postcard. The Vilalara Thalassa Resort has an unbelievable beach, it is truly paradise.

E o fim:

Favorite Store/Shopping Trip: We found a small boutique in Lisbon in the Chiado neighborhood called Lua de Champagne. They have great summery tops, dresses, and jewelry and nearly everything is made in Europe.

Why Portugal? Portugal is just slightly off the beaten path in Europe, but everyone we know who has been there raves about it. The sites, food, people, shopping and beaches are all on par with any other European destination (if not better!). I am already dreaming about my next trip back.

Pelo meio fala dos restaurantes por onde andou, das lojas onde fez boas compras, dos passeios que fez, etc. Boas dicas. Desconheço muito do que ela refere e confesso que fiquei curiosa.

Com uma divulgação deste calibre não admira, pois, que Portugal esteja tão na moda. Claro que tem razão a Leitora Rita quando diz que é também o receio de atentados que afasta as pessoas de Paris ou de outros destinos nos quais supostamete o risco é maior. Seja como for, é bom que estejam a vir para cá: por um lado anima a economia e, por outra, o contacto directo com gente de outras paragens é sempre bom. Eu, pelo menos, gosto bastante.
